What’s Coming Up this month – November

November 30, 2020 – A Full Moon Penumbral Eclipse: 8 degrees, 38 minutes-Gemini. A penumbral elcipse happens when the Moon passes through the Earth’s penumbra, or shadow, with less darkening than that of a total eclipse. Here’s a diagram:

What does this mean Astrologically? A penumbral eclipse brings endings and can feel almost like destiny. It can bring about a much-needed change! Something new then can begin. You might feel a little more emotional surrounding the eclipse so take good care, simplify your schedule if you can, rest and put your needs first. The impact of this eclipse will be felt into the first two weeks of December so it’s important to remain rooted in what you know to be true and maintain your equilibrium. How to stabilize your mind, body and spirit in these times.

Greetings Brave Ones! Our current times are certainly unstable and uncertain. Of course, we want to know what’s going to happen, however, life has other plans. The KEY to navigating these times is “stabilization.” Not very sexy, is it? Today I was thinking about earthquakes and how the ground shifts, bends, shakes, and rolls. Buildings that are constructed to withstand earthquakes have the capacity to roll, bend, and sway to avoid destruction. This is how the buildings’ stabilize. We can do that, too! So, here are my suggestions:

1) Shore up your own foundation first. Like the flight attendants say: Put on your own oxygen mask first before helping anyone else. Are you ‘grounded’ in a way that helps you to stabilize your emotional, physical and mental life? Cooking, cleaning, simplifying your daily life are ways to ground.

2) Speaking from personal experience, I’d be crazy as a loon if I didn’t practice sitting meditation every day. It’s a way to directly connect to earth energy. Besides that, it gives you mental clarity.

3) Stop watching so much news on TV, or at least cut back. I find it’s better to read the news online, and bypass the greater emotional impact of watching it on TV.

4) Make your life as meaningful as possible. HINT: Help others who are less fortunate and vulnerable. You’ll find joy there.

5) We on Earth are experiencing the end of a 120-year cycle so, yes, there will be uncertainty, anxiety, and unrest. Stabilize yourself as much as you can. Change what you need to change in order to do that.

6) In your natal chart, in what house is the sign Aquarius located? This will tell you where to put your efforts and the gifts you can offer to the collective. Contact me for a reading!

7) VOTE! Your vote has power!

Take good care!

Til next time,

Yours,

Lou

What can your Astrology chart tell you about yourself during these challenging and difficult times?

Your Astrology chart can inform you about the area of your life that is being impacted the greatest by the pandemic. Of course, most of us are being impacted in terms of our work and home lives. But what else? What if the transiting planets involved with the pandemic are moving through the 11th house of your natal chart? Then this will have implications for your wider social circle and networks, your hopes and wishes as well as your shared ideals and aspirations. These areas will undergo a complete transformation. How that takes place depends on other planetary factors in your chart. Curious? Let’s take a look at your chart!

Eyes on the Skies With Feet Firmly Planted

One of the challenges of understanding Astrology is synthesizing a vast amount of information into a whole picture or story that one can connect with on a feeling or experiential level. My goal is to do just that so that my client feels connected to their Astrology chart on an ordinary level, like how you feel when you’re walking in your most comfortable shoes.

One key for getting to know your Astrology is to have your feet firmly planted on the Earth, in other words, to be embodied. After all, we are human beings on a planet. Understanding Astrology is both an exercise of the intellect and of mystery, of the mind and the body, of analysis and contemplation.

I invite you to explore what this means for you in the context of your particular Astrology chart!

Where to Begin Chart Interpretation

Planets, Signs and Houses

People sometimes feel kerfuffled by all these terms related to Astrology. There’s a remedy for that – and it’s learning the terms!

Planets – well, most of us know the planets from our early science classes. In Astrology, planets are the actors in the solar system.  They are in constant motion, acting in whatever role they are ‘playing.’

Signs: Aries, Taurus, Gemini, Cancer, Leo, Virgo, Libra, Scorpio, Sagittarius, Capricorn, Aquarius and Pisces – are the scripts, or the descriptions of the roles the planets are playing.  Each sign is associated with one of the four elements:  Fire, Air, Water, and Earth.

Aries, Leo and Sagittarius – Fire Signs

Gemini, Libra and Aquarius – Air Signs

Cancer, Scorpio and Pisces – Water Signs

Taurus, Virgo and Capricorn – Earth Signs

Houses:  There are 12 Houses. Each represents an area of human life and development.

First:  Self, personality, outward persona.

Second:  Values, money, self-worth, attitudes toward attachments, finance.

Third: Communication, basic education, short journeys.

Fourth:  Home, environment, roots of the personality, parents, security, where one belongs.

Fifth:  Creativity, romance, entertainment, sports, the arts, children.

Sixth:  Service to others, health, routine duties, activities done for the sake of something else.

Seventh:  Partnership, relationships, legal matters, open enemies.

Eighth:  Other people’s money and resources, legacies, death and rebirth, renewal.

Ninth:  Beliefs, philosophy, long journeys, higher education, search for meaning.

Tenth:  Profession, fame, reputation, public standing, performance, ambitions, parents.

Eleventh:  Friends, wider social circle, hopes & wishes, trust, groups, shared ideals & aspirations.

Twelfth:  Secret enemies, prisons, monasteries, karma, self-undoing, spiritual aspirations, self-transcendence.

There are many other factors to consider when looking at your astrology chart, such as the modality of the Sign, the Planets’ placements within Houses, and the angles between the Planets, the Sun and the Moon. We’ll, look at those as we proceed!
